Happy runner on a sunny day

Happy runner on a sunny day

Now in its 11th Year, Kilmacolm Running Festival is firmly established in the Scottish running calendar and, as of this year, is a scottishathletics licensed event and will be run under UK Athletics rules.

The 2018 event takes place on Sunday 9 September when runners will start from Birkmyre Fitness Gym making  their way through the streets of the village, surrounding countryside and along the cycle path for the 10k and half marathon before returning to the gym and the finish. The festival also includes a 3K for adults and juniors.

Marshals will line the routes to assist and encourage you along the way and toilet and changing facilities are available at the gym. First Aid cover will be provided on the day for the duration of the event and there will be three water stations on the 10k and half marathon routes with food and drinks available to purchase from Birkmyre Cafe by Nardini after the race.

The half marathon will start at 10am, 10k at 10:30am and the 3k at 9:15am. Pre-registered participants are required to collect their entry pack on the day which includes a timing chip, race number and T-shirt.

Inverclyde Leisure has done everything to make this an enjoyable event for runners and the people of Inverclyde and encourage families to get involved for a fun-filled day!
