Glenlivet 10K Road Race
Come and help us celebrate our 10th anniversary
Incredibly, the Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland annual Glenlivet 10K Road Race reaches its 10th anniversary in 2019 and entries for this celebration event are already at record levels.
This year’s event takes place on Sunday 7 April and a capacity field of runners from all over the UK is expected to take the start line for the tenth time.
Since the race began in 2010, the event has raised close to £175,000 in total for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland and has attracted runners and joggers of all levels and from all over the world to take part. Billed as the ‘most beautiful run in Scotland’, the event was voted third best 10K race in the UK Running Awards in 2016.
The event creator and organiser Paul Corrigan, CHSS North of Scotland Fundraising Manager, said “It is really hard to believe that this year will be the tenth birthday of the Glenlivet 10K event and we are immensely proud of what this running event has made possible for the vital work of the charity.
"At Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, we believe no life should be half lived after a stroke, or diagnosis of a chest or heart condition. We offer help and support to people and their families who may be feeling isolated, fearful or anxious as a result of their condition.
"More people need our advice line, stroke nurses, rehabilitation support workers and peer support groups than ever before. The incredible amount of money raised by everyone who has been involved with Glenlivet 10K event helps people to take back their lives, regain their confidence, and to live life to the full.
"As well as our sincere thanks going to all the wonderful runners who have taken part over the years, we very much recognise and acknowledge the incredible support from the local community and from Glenlivet Distillery who remain a fundamental reason for why the event is possible, popular and makes an incredibly positive difference to people’s lives. Thank you to each and every one of you”
The event, which starts at 11am at the world famous Glenlivet Distillery, is suitable for runners and joggers of all standards. All proceeds from the event go towards helping to improve the quality of life for people in Scotland after a stroke or diagnosis of a chest or heart condition.
