The Penpont Safari race commemorates Penpont's links with explorer Joseph Thomson and the Maasai tribe of Kenya. Landmarks around the village will be renamed for the day to recreate the landscape of East Africa and provide a challenging off road hill race.
For walkers and children there will be a shorter Safari Challenge event of 4K with a treasure hunt element to spot African wildlife lurking around the Penpont countryside

|Facilities||Hosted by the village of Penpont, 2 miles west of Thornhill in Dumfriesshire. Parking, changing and showers are provided. After the finish there will be a barbecue and cake stall for all competitors.|
