Birmingham International Marathon

To be staged for the first time on Sunday 15 October 2017, the Birmingham International Marathon will cement the city’s position as the European Capital of Running.

The 26.2-mile event will be the inaugural run of our newly formed Great Run British Marathon Series and will start at Alexander stadium, the home of British Athletics. The course will take in a number of the city’s most iconic landmarks before finishing in the city centre.

Whether it's for the challenge, for charity, or just for the fun of it, the event, which will be staged on the same day as the well-established Great Birmingham Run half marathon, will be a notable occasion on the athletics calendar.

The Birmingham International Marathon will be a huge celebration of running for all, offering an ideal opportunity to improve the strength and depth of British marathon running.

As with all the world class events we deliver, not only will this be a great event for British elite runners, but perfect for runners of all abilities from the UK and beyond.
With music lining the route and themed miles celebrating the cultural diversity of Birmingham, you have a chance to be part of a little piece of history. This will be a celebration of all that’s great about Birmingham!

Entries will open in autumn 2016, so sign up to the reminder service now and we'll let you know as soon as entries are open for the big day.
Take the challenge and be part of something GREAT!
