Wee Beauty of a Race Won by Millar and Howe

Lewis Millar of Central AC and Angela Howe of Fife AC won this year’s improved Arso Vertitus Trail Race on Sunday, August 2. 161 runners completed the final race in the Tour of Fife series.

The race started from the Falkland Estate duck pond, runners ran a loop around the Estate before skirting around the back of Hogwarts School and heading into the splendid Maspie Den. Here competitors ambled up the path of the picturesque natural ravine, through the tunnel of terror, over small wooden bridges and under the wonderful Yad Waterfall before returning down on the opposite side and finishing, 3.7 miles later, back at the duck pond.

Men's Race

First over the finishing line was Central’s Lewis Millar in a time of 21:28, followed by Fife Veteran Chris Russell in 22:34 and Corstorphine’s Christopher O’Brien in third place in 22:47.

Women's Race

In the Women’s Race, Fife Veteran Angela Howe claimed first spot in 26:57, followed by Sue Johnston (FV40) of Corstorphine AAC in 27:56 and Arbroath Footer Jannette Rainey (F40) in third place in 28:34.

The race was closed by Arragons Cumbrian Triathlon Club’s Janet King (F50) in 45:45.

Full Results

After the race, runners retired to the village hall for the Prize giving and the traditional Fife AC post-race tea party.
