Top Ten For Kelly

Kelly and MargaretDespite being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2006, Kelly McCraw was determined to keep her fitness regime going. This year, Kelly set herself the target of completing 10 events in 2014 to raise funds for Crohns and Colitis UK.

Two of her chosen runs were Kilomathon and Edinburgh Half Marathon. She took part in Kilomathon 2014 with her mum, Margaret McCraw, who is a member of Jedburgh Joggers and also has colitis. Edinburgh runner, Kelly, is part of a Facebook support group for people with Crohn’s and Colitis called #GetYourBellyOut.

Kelly said of Kilomathon: “This was the first time I had taken part in the Kilomathon and it was so nice having a flat route in Edinburgh. I really enjoyed it and as a huge rugby fan it was great running into Murrayfield Stadium for the finish line. I would do it again in a heartbeat.”

Kelly has now completed eight events with only two more to go, including a charity spin and bake. Collectively Kelly and Margaret are aiming to raise over £1,500 for Crohns and Colitis UK. To donate - visit their Just Giving page.
