Excitement is building for the Scottish Half Marathon as it returns to East Lothian on Sunday (18 September) alongside a new 10K. Fast times are expected with both routes being flat and fast, and offering stunning sea views plus a grandstand finish at Musselburgh Racecourse.
The 10k will start at the racecourse at 9am, and the half marathon will start at Meadowmill Sports Centre at 11am.The final furlong at the racecourse will feature cheering crowds, spurring runners over the line. Participants will be rewarded for their efforts with a glass of champagne and a bite to eat in the finish area.
Social media was abuzz with anticipation prior to the event.
