Run Forever To Premiere At Kendal

Nicky SpinksThe story of Nicky Spinks, who, at the age of 49, made fell running history by becoming the fastest person to run a Double Bob Graham Round, will hit the big screen at next month’s Kendal Mountain Festival. Entitled Run Forever, the film charts how Nicky, a cancer-survivor, marked 10 years post-diagnosis by running the 132-mile Lake District route.

In May 2016, Nicky headed to Keswick to tackle the notoriously challenging route, which includes around 54,000ft of ascent. Nicky completed the 132 miles in 45 hours and 30 minutes, an hour quicker than the previous record set in 1979 by Roger Baumeister, who was there in person to support her during her attempt.

Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, Nicky underwent treatment and has since set multiple fell and ultra running records across the UK and placed high in some of Europe’s toughest races, including the Ultra Tour Mont Blanc, the Dragon’s Back Race and the 10 Peaks Extreme.

The film will premiere at the festival before going on general release. You can view a short trailer here
