Ruchill parkrun Off To Great Start

The core team behind Ruchill parkrun expressed their delight following the inaugural run's success on Saturday (15 April). 155 runners, made up of representatives from 42 different clubs, took part in the free 5k in North Glasgow.

Stephen Brown was the first finisher in 18:02, with Natalie Stevenson of Fusion Triathlon Club the fastest female in 19:03. The midpoint runner was Katharine Neil in 25:06.

David Murray and Christopher McKiddie got their hands on the coveted Milestone 100 T-shirts after completing their 100th parkruns at the event, while parkrun tourist Peter Samuelson (Spectrum Striders) travelled from Stockport for the run.

Speaking afterwards, event director Lynsey Park said: “The event went really well, we are delighted. We couldn’t have got to this stage without all of the fantastic support as well as the invaluable knowledge and guidance from Liz Corbett and Norman Groves, who have both been fantastic."
