Hello, San Francisco!

The inaugural Virgin Sport San Francisco Bay Half Marathon will take place on 15 October in the heart of San Francisco. Running around the stunning streets of the City by the Bay, the 13.1-mile course of breathtaking beauty is not to be missed.

The Inaugural Festival of Fitness includes the half marathon and Twin Peaks Mile Challenge as well as fitness classes to get everybody moving. There will also be entertainment, local food and drink for all the family.

A challenging and enchanting route, you’ll have the opportunity run by the Painted Ladies and then through Golden Gate Park. Mid-course, there’ll be an epic incline up through the Presidio with gorgeous sweeping views of the ocean and the most-photographed bridge in the world, the Golden Gate Bridge, followed by a run along the bay and the Marina District. There is an opportunity for a strong finish with rolling hills back to Civic Center Plaza.

There is no shortage of things to do in San Fransisco, ranging from visiting Alcatraz Island, AT&T Park and the Yosemite National Park. As you prepare for race day why not run the Crissy Field parkrun? The course starts just off the San Francisco Bay Trail by the Beach Hut Café and offers sweeping views of both Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge.
