It was only a stout performance from Mark Dunham (Southport Waterloo AC) that prevented a sweep of the podium places for Cambuslang Harriers in the men's race at Boxing Day's Ayrodynamic Turkey Trot. Stuart Gibson (32:49) broke the tape ahead of Kerry-Liam Wilson (33:26) with Dunham a close third (33:27) and Fraser Stewart (33:43) next home.

In the women's race US-based Kirstin Oakley (38:56) was fastest, finishing ahead of Ayr Seaforth's Laura Wallace (39:15).

Garscube Harrier Amy Cromarty (48:45) was the mid-point runner of a field of 283 who enjoyed a brisk midday run that blew away cobwebs and burned off excess calories.

Runner-up Kerry-Liam Wilson seemed as impressed with the post-race goodies as his second place commenting: "New course for the Ayrodynamic 10K Turkey Trot. First 2.5k and last 2.5k were the same as previous years, however the middle 5k section was very different. Ended up having a hard fought race but pleased with nice rucksack as part of the entry fee."
