Last Friday (2 March) we reported on the decimated race card across Scotland due to the severe weather causing cancellations and postponements to all but a few events. A week on and we’re pleased to report this weekend is looking a great deal brighter, with a number of big races taking place tomorrow and on Sunday.
Furthermore, race organisers have been working hard to reschedule some of the events that fell foul of the weather last week and three of these races now have new dates.
The Arbroath Smokies 10 Mile Road Race will now take place on Sunday 13 May while Cambuslang Harriers’ Down by the River 10K and 3K will go ahead a week later (20 May). Edinburgh’s Resolution Run has also found a new date and runners will head to Cramond Foreshore on 29 April. Finally, the team behind the Lasswade10 Road Race are currently trying to find a suitable date for their rearranged race and have promised to provide more information soon.
On to this weekend and while the Inverness Half Marathon is the feature event over the next few days; there are plenty of other big race options. The Jack Crawford Springburn Cup, organised by Springburn Harriers takes place at 12 noon on Saturday 11 March and popular ultra the D33 starts from the Duthie Park in Aberdeen. Finally the Glasgow Resolution Run supporting the Stroke Association takes place at Glasgow Green on Sunday morning at 10:30am.
A detailed list of events across Scotland over this weekend and beyond is available on our Race Listing section and race results will appear on the website on Sunday evening.
