With last weekend's Join In Campaign encouraging the nation to take part in some form of sporting activity after the enthusiasm generated by London 2012, this Sunday will see the return of many of the Olympic stars at the Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix.
An impressive list of 16 gold medallists will be headlining the event, with double Olympic champion Mo Farah a confirmed participant. Farah will be competing in the 2 mile race, and, after his performance in London, will no doubt have Steve Ovett's outdoor British record of 8:13:51 in his sights.
On his return to the city, Farah said: "I'm looking forward to coming back to the Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix. It was a special atmosphere there last year and another victory would be great. It's a big year for athletics in the UK."
With a sell-out crowd, the 5,000 and 10,000m champion said the returning Olympians can expect a positive reception: "The crowd has really got behind me on home soil in 2012, and I'm sure they'll be in high spirits to cheer on the returning Olympic contingent in Birmingham."
Farah will be joined in the 2 mile race by four other GB runners, with Nick McCormick, Ross Murray, Jonathan Taylor and Chris Thompson all looking to impress. A full start list is available here.
The Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix will be shown live on BBC2 from 2-5pm.
