A bright and sunny May morning with a refreshing cool breeze provided perfect conditions for the over 200 participants in this week's Glasgow parkrun. In the 5k Pollok Park event - on his 7th appearance, a ridiculously youthful Luke Traynor (JM 15-19) of Giffnock North AAC stormed to victory posting a time of 16:50.

In marked contrast - the Ladies race was won by Frances Florence (VW45-49) of Springburn Harriers, in an excellent debut time of 19:30.

The word is certainly getting around and the event's continuing popularity, helped not least by its free entry status, saw 52 first timers.

Personal Bests abounded with 88 runners putting a PB for the course on their CV - special praise and well done to all with a special word of praise to Jacqueline Forester and Caroline McGonigle at the back of the field. The two runners dug really deep on the second circuit and fully earned their PBs as a reward their effort and commitment.
