Festive Fun In Regal Run

Looking ahead to the festive season, the Royal National Lifeboat Association (RNLI) has organised a pair of running events that will be sure to bring a little bit of Christmas cheer.

The RNLI Reindeer Run at Glamis Castle - the childhood home of the Queen Mother- is due to take place on Sunday, November 20. Last year's event saw the majority of the 330 participants brandishing a pair of reindeer antlers, with in excess of £10,000 raised for the RNLI.

The charity has organised a similar event one week later, with a Reindeer Run at Stirling University. The course will take in some stunning views of the university grounds and the surrounding areas. As with the event at Glamis Castle, the 10k event is open to runners aged 16 and above while there is a 5k run for all those 10 and over.

Caryn Whitelaw, Events Manager for RNLI in Scotland, said she was looking forward to the two festive runs. Caryn commented: "It's a great event: last year was fantastic fun with so many people in antlers and fancy dress costumes. The run is a great way to get in shape ahead of the festive season."

If you would like to enjoy some festive fun and want to fit in one final 10k before your Christmas dinner, you can now register at the RNLI website. There will be prizes for the top male and female runners, with an extra award for the best fancy dress. Entries are priced at £18 for 10k and £15 for the 5k run.
