No Dilly-Dallying for Dailly on Dad's Day
21 JUN2009
Some 2620 runners completed the Men's Health Forum Scotland 10k in Glasgow today. This was the fourth staging of the popular event, which is held annually on Father's Day to raise awareness about men's health issues.
Irvine's David Millar won the race in a time of 31:50, with Alastair Douglas being the first Vet in 35:53.
69 times capped ex Scotland football internationalist, Christian Dailly ran the race in a very impressive 37:49. All runners finished the race, through Bellahouston and Pollok parks, in less than two hours.
Dailly, 36, who left Rangers at the end of the season, said: "I really enjoyed taking part in the race today. The atmosphere was great and I was very impressed that so many guys turned up to take part."
"It's a great opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of men's health in Scotland and to raise money for charities such as Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres."
