Big Weekend For Scottish Runners

22 AUG2011

view of runner's legs

The penultimate weekend in August saw a very busy running calendar across Scotland which started with the first staging of the Gay 5K on Friday (a field of 147 gave the event a respectable initiation). Saturday was half marathon day with events at Nairn, Coll and Haddington; plus the popular Highland Games 10k at Rothesay. The four Scottish parkruns also saw good turnouts.

Sunday's highlights were the Achilles Heel Bella 5k, 10Ks in Irvine and Forfar plus the first running of the Glasgow River Rat Race (look out for our full report tomorrow).

Check out the results for all the weekend's events at our race listings page.

If you took part in any of the weekend's events please let us know how you got on either in the comments section below or on our Facebook page.
