Online Deadline Looms For Bella Races

11 AUG2011

Action from the Bella 5K

Hard-working Glasgow club Bellahouston Roadrunners is organising three races in 2011 and their event programme starts later this month with the popular Achilles Heel Bella 5K. The race held on a flat course in Bellahouston Park is set for Sunday, August 21 with a 2.00pm start.

The club follows that up in November with the Jimmy Irvine Bella 10K. This race was staged for the first time in 2010 and attracted a bumper turnout for a late autumn run in the park. Saturday, November 12 (11.00am start) is the date and time for the 10k.

Entering both the 5K and 10K races together in the same transaction through Entry Central, reduces the overall entry fee by £3. In addition, T shirts will also be provided to all pre-entrants to the series. It is important to ensure you enter both events at the same time! Add both events to your shopping basket to receive the discount. Pre-entry for the Achilles Heel Bella 5K closes next Wednesday, August 17 so sign up before then to take advantage of the 5K/10K double deal. On the day entry for the 5K is the option after that.

Race organisers emphasise the friendly nature of both the August 5K and the November 10K with their post-race invitation to participants to head back to the Palace of Arts where the club puts on its now famous spread including teas, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, and lots of cake.

The club's annual hill race, the Bella Ben Venue Challenge takes place on Saturday, October 1, 2011. This year the race is part of the Scottish Hill Runners Senior Championship.

Check out details of these events at the Bellahouston Roadrunners website.
