The Forth parkrun
14 JUL2011

This weekend sees the beginning of the fourth parkrun in Scotland, in Callendar Park, Falkrik. The new free 5k time trial event will launch this Saturday after two test runs and a long period of planning by the volunteer team.
The chosen route takes runners round Callendar Park in a figure of 8 shape, passing by Callendar Park House and the boating lake in the park grounds. There is a current record of 18:59 for completing the course. Entrants are reminded that this is a barcode only event, but with signup taking only 30 seconds at the parkrun website, you can be ready to go in no time!
And that's not all the Scottish parkrun news this month: two further parkruns are on the horizon, one in Aberdeen, the other in Inverness, and there are enthusiasts in the Selkirk/Peebles area who are exploring the possibility of a Borders parkrun.
In addition a proposed St Andrews parkrun is gathering momentum with planning meetings already held.

Just to be clear, it's not strictly a time trial, everyone starts together.
Good luck to all!
