Early Birds Can Still Catch River Ness Worm

17 JUN2011

runners at the River Ness 10k

Runners planning to enter the Baxters River Ness 10K have until midnight on July 1 to take advantage of the special discounted 'early bird' entry rate. The 10K, part of the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running on October 2, 2011, follows a scenic route through the Highland capital. The flat course offers excellent potential for a fast time, making it popular with runners throughout the country.

Although general entry for the marathon closed on May 1, places remain open for charity, club and overseas runners. Charity places are available for runners supporting six nominated charities and over 30 associated charities. Last year participants raised a massive £785,200 for charity through the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running, bringing added satisfaction to the reward of completing their chosen event.

Entry is also still open for other Festival events including the Baxters River Ness 5K Fun Run and the HSBC 10K Corporate Challenge. The 10K Corporate Challenge, a team event for four to six people, is an opportunity for people who work together to build fitness - and fun! - into their daily routine as they train for the 10K. And for younger pre-school age children there is the Wee Nessie, to walk or run!

In this year of Active Scotland, the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running on Sunday, October 2 is a fantastic opportunity for all ages and abilities to take part in a running event. Visit the event website to find out more about all events.
