Flaming June For jogscotland

28 MAY2011

jogscotland 5K action

The jogscotland 5K challenge programme is starting soon and it provides runners across Scotland with the opportunity to take part in terrific summer fun events. The Jogscotland 5Ks are held in beautiful locations and have become a firm favourite in the running calendar. The six event programme starts in Aberdeenshire on Wednesday June 8, at spectacular Haddo Country Park.

Heading further north on Wednesday, June 15, Bught Park in Inverness will play host to participants who will run along the River Ness. This event is a good preparation for October's popular Baxters River Ness 10K.

On Tuesday June 21, the jogscotland 5k challenge roadshow hits the Scottish Borders, described by one participant last year as 'the perfect location', followed the next day by the Glasgow Green event.

The flagship event of the series is in Edinburgh on Tuesday, June 28, and last year two runs held on that evening attracted almost 2000 participants. The route offers runners their once a year chance to run through the Royal Botanic Garden (normally running is not permitted through the ornate gardens).

Closing the series on Wednesday, June 29, the Dundee event at Camperdown Country Park is the newest leg of the series.

Great locations plus the evening time slots make he jogscotland 5k challenges the perfect event to grab your colleagues and your trainers and get involved in a post work run. Enjoy the fresh air too and indulge in a bit of friendly competition against other work teams in your area!

Each year, workplace teams from organisations across the country sign up for these events, all gearing up to win the coveted title of Healthy Working Lives Workplace Team champions!

The series is suitable for all levels of walker and runne, and junior runs are held before each 5k challenge. Enter now at the event website.
