20 APR2011

Scottish 5km road race championships poster

The Run and Become Self Transcendence summer series has been a popular feature of the Scottish road running calendar for a number of years. This year the event scheduled for Wednesday, May 11 at Silverknowes Esplanade in Edinburgh will have added prestige as it now incorporates the Scottish 5km road race championships.

Entries are now open for the event which will be the second race in the 2011 Stewarts Road Race Grand Prix. Although the 5k run will now attract some of Scotland's top club athletes, it is open to runners of all standards. Race co-ordinator Adrian Stott told scottishrunningguide.com: "Run and Become has been organising races at the Meadows and at Silverknowes for many years and we're delighted that this year one of our events is hosting the Scottish 5k road championships. The riverside course is fast and flat so we hope good times are encouraged throughout the field."

Full details and a downloadable entry form are available are available at the event website.

Online entries are also available from the entrycentral website.
