The Most Beautiful Run In Scotland?

23 MAR2011

action from the Glenlivet 10K

As the clocks go forward at the weekend, runners across Scotland can look ahead to some of the top events of the year taking place over the next couple of months including a new favourite, the Glenlivet 10K Road Race on Sunday, April 10. Around 400 runners from all over Scotland took part in the first event in 2010 and feedback, on what organisers have billed as 'the most beautiful run in Scotland', was very positive.

Event Organiser Paul Corrigan told scottishrunningguide.com: "I received dozens of positive comments from runners about the first event and particularly the stunning location and scenery, the warm welcome received and, of course, the superb weather on the day! The 'word' has certainly gone out and there are already over 400 runners signed up for this year's run coming from all over the UK and also two ladies coming from the USA!"

Paul continued: "Last year's event raised a fantastic £9,000 for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) which really made a significant and positive impact on our ability to maintain and develop vital support services for people affected by chest, heart and stroke illness. In addition, the event helped to raise awareness about CHSS, about chest, heart and stroke illness and really promoted the Glenlivet area to those who were unaware of this very special place."

The Glenlivet 10K is based at the legendary Glenlivet Distillery in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park about 30 miles south of Elgin and the scenic undulating route and stunning landscape make this a special course to run. The event uses chip timing and all runners get a quality goody bag and medal after the race.
