Runners To Leap At Falls of Shin

2 MAR2011

World Horse Welfare logo

Runners in the north of Scotland looking for an event with a difference should consider the Invershin Fun Run at the Shin Falls Visitor Centre, Invershin on April 3. Invershin is near Lairg in Sutherland. The falls are famous for leaping salmon.

There are two options - the 'Canter' Trail Race, approximately 6 miles, and the 'Trot' Fun Run, approximately 1 mile. The Fun Run has been organised by Elissa Steven to raise funds for the World Horse Welfare Canadian Wilderness Challenge in August.

Elissa told scottishrunningguide.com: "This is an event for everyone - you don't have to run; you can walk or jog! Each entrant will receive a goody bag. Fancy dress is encouraged, how about dressing up as a horse or wearing jodphurs and a riding hat? My aim for this event is for everyone to have fun!

You can download an entry form at the event webpage. Applications should be received by Friday, March 25.
