Have You Run All 9 Loch Ness Marathons?

25 FEB2011

LOch Ness Marathon Start

In the tenth anniversary year of the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon, organisers want to contact runners who have taken part in the 9 previous Baxters Loch Ness Marathons. They are also calling on everyone considering a long distance run this year to sign up for the event in 2011. In the Year of Active Scotland, the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running on Sunday, October 2 is a great opportunity for all ages and abilities to take part in a running event.

To mark this special 10th anniversary year, runners intending to participate in the 2011 marathon, and who have completed all previous 9 Loch Ness Marathons, are invited to register for a unique memento to be awarded at the finish of the 2011 run.

Malcolm Sutherland, Race Director of Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running, said: "We would like all runners who have finished all 9 Loch Ness Marathons to get in touch with us and let us know, so as we can invite them to join our anniversary celebrations at the event on October 2 - we know there are a few of you out there! The Loch Ness Marathon is a favourite with people across the UK and beyond and we are looking forward to welcoming runners old and new to this year's event. It's only 10 weeks until general entry closes for the marathon and I would encourage everyone thinking of running to visit www.lochnessmarathon.com now to be sure of a place."

Be a part of the 10th birthday celebrations by taking part in any of the Festival's races - the full marathon, 10K or 5K. With so many races and distances to choose from, there really is something to suit everyone.
