12,000 Run in the Edinburgh Sunshine

Huge congratulations to the 8,257 runners who completed the 2009 Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon in sweltering weather conditions on Sunday. The race was won by Anglo Scot, Martin Williams, 31, in a time of 2 hours 18 minutes and 24 seconds. Holly Rush of Bradford Upon Avon, won the women's race in a time of 2:41:38, the first Scot being Toni McIntosh of Ayr Seaforth who finished second in a time of 2:47:18. The Full Marathon Runners were joined by 932 teams of 4 participating in the Hairy Haggis Team Relay race, including Scottish Running Guide prize winner Ian Goudie, whose mixed team finished in a very respectable 12th place with a time of 3:20:11.
