A party of Edinburgh runners fly out to Morocco this weekend to compete in the Marrakesh Marathon and Half Marathon on Sunday, January 30. 19 runners from Harmeny AC (plus a small contingent from Lasswade AC) and travelling support will fly to North Africa and join around 5,000 international runners taking part in the various races.

Harmeny AC spokesperson Norma Bone told scottishrunningguide.com: "We're all looking forward to the trip and a break from the winter weather, with a chance to enjoy competitive running in good conditions. We've enjoyed previous trips to Paris and Amsterdam and decided to be a bit more adventurous this time."

I am going to Marrakech too!! I run for Pitreavie AAC in Dunfermline. I am going myself so I will look out for those lot for a wee bit Scottish banter!
