Rescheduled Event Set To Be A Cracker

12 JAN2011

fancy dressed runners at jogscotland Christmas event

The rescheduled jogscotland Christmas Cracker 5k goes ahead on Sunday, January 16 at Strathclyde Park. The event was originally planned for December but postponed due to severe weather conditions. The race starts at 11.00am and takes participants on a scenic 5k course around Strathclyde Loch.

Last year the event attracted an enthusiastic crowd of 500, all keen to experience a fun-filled festive walk/jog/run and this post(poned) Christmas Cracker guarantees a brilliant atmosphere and a great day out for all the family. It's the perfect way to kick start the New Year and get back into exercise now that the festivities are over.

jogscotland Manager Alistair Currie said: "New Year is the ideal time for beginners to start out on a new hobby and to get more active, or for those who have let their fitness regimes lapse to start afresh. The fact that we had to postpone our event has meant that our participants can now kick off their New Year as they mean to go on - active, happy and raring to go!"

There will be spot prizes for the best fancy dress costume, be it Christmas-related or not and all finishers will receive a t-shirt, good bag and a medal. There is still time to enter for this event online.
