Cross Country Series' Belated Start

10 JAN2011

Over 100 hardy souls braved difficult conditions to get the 2010/2011 Borders Cross Country series off to a belated start at Paxton House (near Berwick) yesterday. Corstorphine's Keith Hood was first male in 26:26 and Megan Wright of Hunters Bog Trotters was first woman in 30:29. Conor McErlean was mid-point runner in 33:37 while Berwick Harrier Jeanette Learmouth completed the field in 58:10. Moorfoot pair Jacob Atkin and Sophie Collins won their respective junior events.

The popular winter series has been truncated to four legs with the next event at Berwick on January 23 and the third round at Norham on February 6. The series will be completed at Dunbar on February 27 with the prize-giving post-race at Hallhill Healthy Living Centre.
