Keep Running Through Winter In Stranraer

14 OCT2010

The start of the Stranraer 10K

As winter draws closer and the cold weather starts to take its toll, some runners can be tempted to put down their running shoes and wait for spring. However, race organisers in Stranraer would like runners to buck this trend and take part in the Stranraer 10K Road Race, on November 6.

The race, organised by Dumfries and Galloway Council's 'Run Stranraer', will start at 12 noon and give runners the chance to beat those winter blues. At only £10 for entry, the race will take runners around the town, finishing at Stranraer Academy, where all who cross the line will receive a medal and t-shirt.

There are cash prizes for the first three male and female runners as well as prizes for several categories. The race is always a well attended event, with runners from both Scotland and across the water from Northern Ireland.

Online entries will be accepted until Friday November 5, although entries will also be taken on the day.
