Not Long Till Loch Ness

23 SEP2010

Loch Ness Marathon Logo

Entries to the Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running are now closed and runners are putting the finishing touches to their training schedules ahead of the big day in just 10 days time. The Marathon, 10K and 5k races are becoming more each year, with thousands of runners turning.

The October 3 races will be enhanced this year with the introduction of a new finish line in Bught Park, Inverness, adjacent to the River Ness in the city centre. The new finish line is an exciting prospect for runners, as it offers the potential for runners to achieve a faster race time than previous years.

The new finish line will be part of a tented Festival village, with improved runner facilities and an exciting programme of live entertainment and activities for all the family to enjoy.

Race sponsors, Baxters, will be hosting a traditional Pasta Party on Saturday, October 2 in Bught Park from 12.30-18.00. The party will give runners, friends and family the chance to 'carbo-load' on a three course meal of soup and roll, pasta and salad, followed by dessert. During the Pasta Party, there will be live music, physiotherapists and massage therapists. Tickets for the pasta party can be bought online now.
