A Monikie Mission
20 AUG2010

The Monikie 34.3 duathlon event will take place on Sunday, with competitors racing through a challenging course on two wheels and foot. Racers will be hoping to prove the weatherman wrong, as forecasted heavy rain showers would give less than perfect conditions for the race.
The race will start and finish at the Monikie Reservoirs, with participants first completing two laps of a figure 8 circuit around the reservoirs, before embarking on a 40K cycle down to the outskirts of Dundee. After completing this course twice, duathletes will return to the reservoirs to complete a final lap of the flat figure 8 course before crossing the finish line.
The reservoir provides a fantastic training and racing venue, with beautiful scenery all around. Racers will all receive a medal and goody bag for their efforts on Sunday with prizes going to the first male and female across the line in various categories as well as relay prizes being awarded.
Good luck to all taking part in races over the weekend, remember to check scottishrunningguide.com for results.
