Haddington And A Half

Almost 200 runners competed in the Asics Haddington Half Marathon this weekend, taking on a tough but fast course in the countryside of East Lothian. A cloudy morning lead the way for a bright and sunny afternoon as the race got underway at 2pm.
Chris Wilson of Ronhill Cambuslang Harriers took home the title with a clear lead from his closest rival in a time of 1:11:18. Craig Mattocks of Wooton Road Runners came in second place, size minutes behind the winner. Winning the ladies race was Megan Wright of HBT in a time of 1:22:53' followed by Alison Docherty of Central Athletics in 1:24:12.
Natasha Walker finished things off in 2:38:41 with the mid point runner, with a time of 1:49:33, being Alasdair Marshall. Both team races were won by Portobello RC.
The Haddington 5 mile and Half Marathon are sure to return next year from race organisers Haddington and East Lothian Pacemakers.
