Run The Road First With Deafblind Scotland

22 JUL2010

The site of the new Field of Dreams centre next to the link road

Runners in Scotland will be given the chance to take part in a unique race on August 22 as Deafblind Scotland present their 'Field of Dreams' one off 5K and 10K races on the new Kirkintilloch link road, which will still be under construction when the race takes place.

The race will be in aid of the charity's 'Field of Dreams' building fund, which will be a new training and resource centre in Lenzie, on the banks of the new road. The charity need to raise £1.4million to make this vision a reality and all profits from this special race will contribute to the fund.

The charity will also be raising money through a Zipslide Across the Clyde event and a Forth Rail Bridge Abseil, which take place in August and October respectively.

Entries are now being taken for the 'Field of Dreams' races, and runners can register online now.
