Calling All Runners In North West Scotland!
2 JUN2010

Coasters GB have been in touch with scottishrunningguide. com as the British Coastal Relay reaches the northwest of Scotland. There are still spaces left unfilled in the legs of the relay between Kilchoan and Mallaig, for any runners who wish to take part in this monumental event.
Barry the Baton is due to arrive in Kilchoan ferry point at 18:35 on Saturday June 5, with a runner taking the baton from there to Ardslignish (9miles) the following morning.
From Ardslignish, there are five legs which need to be covered, either by individuals or groups, to carry Barry the Baton through to Mallaig. These legs are:
Ardslignish - Salen (10.6 miles) Sunday June 6
Salen - Glenuig (13.9 miles) Sunday June 6
Glenuig - Lochailort (8.1 miles) Monday June 7
Lochailort - Arisaig (8.8 miles) Tuesday June 8
Arisaig - Mallaig (7.4 miles) Wednesday June 9
Any runners who wish to help get Barry the Baton around the country and be part of this fantastic venture, should sign up on the Coasters GB website, where they can contact other runners and the section coordinator.
Runners are reminded that legs can be run by more than one person or group, Coasters GB is a people orientated event and want as many runners as possible to be involved in what will be an historic event when Barry the Baton reaches his start/finish point in Blackpool in September.

Hi
I'm moving to Barra in the New Year. I understand that there's a runing club on the island called "Vatersay Raiders." Would any North West Scotland runners hold contact details for it, please?
Many thanks
