Urbanathlon Heads North Of The Border
25 MAY2010

Scotland's Urbanathlon challenges kick off on Sunday May 30, with runners given the chance to run, jump or scramble their way around a 10K course in Edinburgh. Inspired by parkour, Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) have teamed up with Urbanathlon events to hold the races across the country, with events in Dundee and Glasgow taking place later in the year.
Participants will be tackling a series of obstacles along the unique 10K route, with Edinburgh's course promising the challenge of getting over a double decker bus... or two.
CHSS hope to build on the success of last year's 'Urbathon', which took place in October, seeing 700 runners raise £40,000 for the charity which supports people throughout Scotland affected by chest, heart and stroke illness.
Event Organiser for CHSS, Alison Bertram, said, "Last year's event was a roaring success and from the feedback we've received, it's clear that a great day was had by all our runners. We're over the moon to be teaming up with the fantastic Urbanathlon Events to make this year's events even better."
The races in Dundee and Glasgow will be held on August 29 and September 19 respectively. For more information, visit the Urbanathon Scotland website.
