Last Minute Advice For Edinburgh Marathon Festival

20 MAY2010

Scottishrunningguide.com has put together a few bits of last minute advice for any runners and supporters going to the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on Sunday May 23. All the essential bits of information are listed below.

Timings

The Scottish Half Marathon will start at 8am on London Road
The Hairy Haggis Team Relay and Edinburgh Marathon will start on Regent Road at 09.50.

Transport

Race organisers are urging supporters and runners to leave the car at home on the day and use public transport and shuttle buses to get to and from the start/finish. Citylink are providing promotional fares for marathon runners, Scotrail can take runners into Edinburgh city centre from the finish in Musselburgh and public buses provide an excellent bus service within Edinburgh. For runners booked onto shuttle buses (which are now sold out), more information about where they go to and from can be found here.

Weather

Current BBC Weather Forecast for Sunday is a High of 21, with Light Rain Showers and a moderate breeze.

ChampionChip

Runners are reminded to take their ChampionChip in the post and to wear it around their ankle, as the timings will not work if it is worn on a wrist.
