Final Countdown For Women's 10K

5 MAY2010

With the Ignis Asset Management Women's 10K only a few days away, the final countdown is on for ladies across the country, looking to achieve a personal goal, or just have fun this Sunday, May 9.

With the weather predicted to be cloudy but mild, the conditions should be perfect for the race. Ladies taking part are being reminded by race organisers to remember to take their free subway and shuttle bus passes with them, to ensure they arrive at the race in plenty of time.

Louise Sylvester is tackling her first ever 10K on Sunday and has told scottishrunningguide.com about her expectations, with only a few days left to prepare.

"This is my first time taking part in the Glasgow Ladies 10K. While a month or so ago I was worried about the big day looming, now I can't wait to get stuck in and put my weeks of hard work to the test. I'm not concerned with my race time, I just want the satisfaction of completing the course and feeling great at the end. Being surrounded by thousands of like-minded women should inspire me and give the event a great atmosphere."

The Ignis Asset Management Women's 10K has been organised by Run Glasgow, who will also be hosting the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run in Glasgow, in September this year.
