Ultimate Team Building From MHFS

6 APR2010

Runners train for the MHFS workplace challenge

For colleagues looking for that ultimate team building experience, the Men's Health Forum Scotland (MHFS) is challenging males in the workplace to group together and take on the MHFS 10K for Men on June 20.

The MHFS 10K for Men workplace challenge aims to encourage colleagues from all professions and sectors to enter a team to this year's event in Glasgow's Bellahouston Park. The challenge hopes to help men combat stress and inactivity in the workplace, as well as promote wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle.

Now in its fifth year, the MHFS 10K for Men is hoping to attract over 5000 men of all abilities, whether they hop, skip or jump over the finish line. The event is unique in the UK, being the only 10K designed specifically for men.

Mark Ward, the national coordinator for the Men's Health Forum Scotland said: "Exercise is vital to help improve your performance in the workplace. People today are living increasingly busier lives than ever before and work is a major focus for so many. It is vitally important that the right balance is struck. The current economic climate has also increased pressure to perform in our jobs. However, we can't neglect our health and fitness either.

"The MHFS is urging men to realise running and exercise can help performance in the workplace. It reduces stress and improves overall levels of fitness. We want to encourage workplaces throughout Scotland to support employees to sign up to this year's event, which will help to boost morale and bring colleagues closer together."
