Easter 10k For Edinburgh parkrunners

22 MAR2010

Edinburgh parkrun organisers are planning an Easter treat with the announcement of a one-off 10k event on Sunday, April 4. The timed 10k takes in two laps of the normal 5k course and it starts at 09:30am.

Organisers have scheduled a professional warm up starting at 09:15am on the start line, a water station at the 5k mark and finish, and free giveaways to all those taking part.

Gary Frater told scottishrunniingguide.com: "The Edinburgh organisers are keen to give new runners a chance at running the next popular distance beyond 10k. The results will not form any part of the parkrun points system due to the extra distance - but full results will be posted on our parkrun newspage and Facebook after the event."

This will be a 'barcode' only event and organiers are also looking for volunteers to help out on the day by emailing edinburghparkrun@googlemail.com.
