There will be an electric atmosphere in Holyrood Park on Sunday, May 2 when thousands of runners line up at the start of the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run.

Signing up for the popular 10k event is a great way to keep yourself in shape and the city centre route is regarded as one of the world's most scenic road runs.

This year is extra special as this year runners will cross the forecourt of the historic Palace of Holyroodhouse By kind permission of Her Majesty The Queen.

The Bupa Great Edinburgh Run is suitable for runners of all abilities aged 15 years and over. All runners receive an event t-shirt, souvenir medal, chip timing to ensure an accurate running time and finishers pack including a bottle of Powerade, Aqua Pura water plus much more.

How to enter

Enter the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run before the March 5 to be in with a chance of winning the Run4It vouchers which are available to to spend on Nike product in store.

1st = £100 voucher
2nd = £50 voucher
3rd = £25 voucher

Winners will be picked at random of all those entered into the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run before March 5.

Running for charity?

Bupa Great Run is working with JustGiving, the UK's leading online fundraising website, to help you raise more money for charity.

JustGiving is the World's largest community of fundraisers, donors and charities. Since launch in 2001 its 10 million users have raised over half a billion pounds for more than 8,000 UK charities. It works by processing donations and reclaiming Gift Aid so charities don't have to, which makes the money you raise go further. A lot further.

By taking part in one of the Great Run series and using JustGiving you can raise much-needed funds for a cause close to your heart.

Business Challenge - £1000 prize for charity

The Bupa Great Edinburgh Run business challenge invites small, medium and large businesses to take part in the event as part of a team.

Not only do you get the chance to earn bragging right against other businesses taking part it's a very cost effective team building exercise and this year there is a £1000 prize for the overall winning team to donate to a charity of their choice.

Other prizes include the winner's trophy which is engraved and passed on every year to the overall winning team in each category and the top three teams in each category will receive an engraved plaque to keep.

Bupa Junior and Mini Great Edinburgh Run

The day also includes the Bupa Junior and Mini Great Edinburgh Run for young people aged 3 - 14 years making it a great day for all the family.

The mini event is for children aged 3 - 8 years and will cover an approximate 1.5km. The junior event is for youngsters aged 9 - 14 years and covers an approximate 2.5km course.

All junior and mini runners will receive t-shirts, souvenir medal and finishers pack. junior runners will be chip timed and results published on the Great Run website shortly after the event.
