New York Half Now In March
22 JAN2010
Runners in Scotland still shivering after one of the coldest spells for many years may think it is time to plan a glamorous trip to dispel the gloom of these dark January days. One interesting option is the New York City half marathon. This prestigious event which is expected to attract over 10,000 runners is moving from its usual mid August date to March 21.

The new date means the race will be run in mild early spring weather - ideal for running. The New York City half marathon is popular with British runners - Paula Radciffe was first woman in 2009 and there is a great atmosphere at the event which starts in Central Park and finishes in Battery Park.
Lottery applications for the race which is always oversubscribed are closed but you can still arrange a place with an official travel partner. Sports Tours International, the leading UK sports travel company, will be taking a party to New York for the March race and a few places are still available.
