The Race is On!

26 DEC2009

pic by Dudley Walker

There are a number of opportunities to run off yesterday's excesses with confirmation that the race schedule in Scotland will go ahead today. The Glasgow parkrun will adopt an alternative route and the Edinburgh one has passsed a Christmas Day inspection and will be treated with salt prior to the start. There will be a race at Ayr, if the pavements are too icy the Turkey Trot will be held along the beach instead. Organisers have even checked to ensure that the tide will be out. Rest assured that, as long as you can get to the Ayr Citadel today, you will get a run!

We've checked the web sites of the other races and there's no indication that the popular Nairn Turkey Trot and the fabulously titled Forfar Plum Pudding Plod will not survive the weather, so get your Christmas running gear on and head for your nearest race.

See our Race Listings page for further details.
