Consider a Cross Country and Ceilidh

Entries are still open for the Edinburgh Braids Cross Country race being held on Saturday, November 14. If you have never experienced a cross country event before then why not consider this one and if your legs are up to it you can dance the night away at the famous post race Braids Ceilidh. The annual Edinburgh University Braid Hills XC Race takes place over the scenic, rolling hills of Southern Edinburgh. The undulating course is very popular with local club runners and a regular in the calendar for universities countrywide. The course is sometimes wet and includes one steep downhill on each lap. Fell or studded racing shoes are recommended but not spikes as much of the course runs over a gravel bridle path. The Women's Race starts at 14.00pm 3 mile (1 lap) and the Men's Race at 14.30pm 6 mile (2 laps)

Registration, number collection and entries on the day will be in KB House, at King's Buildings, West Mains Road, Edinburgh from 12:00pm until 13.40pm. Changing and showering facilities are available in KB House. Car parking is available locally. Participants must be over 18 years old on the day of the race.

The prize giving will take place immediately following the race in KB House where there will also be refreshments available.

The Post-Braids Ceilidh and Party
Don't forget to join in the renowned Braids Ceilidh and associated festivities later in the evening. The fun combines a meal and ceilidh at the Three Sisters Pub on the Cowgate, followed by a cheesy music rave until the early hours. Tickets can be bought at the race and on the door. Ceilidh tickets alone will also be available to purchase, for those who aren't after food.
