Free Beer for the Runners

20 APR2009

Arran Beer

Just under 50 racers competed in the Ormidale 10K on the Isle of Arran on Sunday 19th April, with more than 10% of them receiving prizes in the form of a trophy and bottles of the local ale.

The day's proceedings started early for many of the runners as they made their way by car, train and bus to Ardrossan for the 9.30am Arran to Brodick Ferry. After their morning sail, they made their way up to the Ormidale Pavillion, where they were greeted by local runners and supporters. A total of 49 runners ran the flat and scenic 10K in the glorious midday sunshine.

Davy Simpson of Carnegie AC won the race, with Jamie Findlay of Irvine AC second and Kerry Wilson of Ron Hill, Cambuslang finishing third.
