Make the Great Winter Run Your New Year's Resolution

4 NOV2009

Entries for the 2010 Bupa Great Winter Run are now open; why not make the Great Winter Run your goal to keep you motivated throughout the Winter?

The date - Saturday 9th January 2010

The place - Edinburgh's stunning Holyrood Park

The distance - 5km road run

Age - 14 years and over

The reason? - To stay in shape, to achieve a personal best time, to raise money for charity, to be part of something, to help you stay healthy, to win...

The day will appeal to the whole family as it also includes the Junior Great Winter Run which is aimed at children aged from 7 to 13.

What's more, there should be a cracking atmosphere as the Bupa Great Edinburgh International Cross Country - an annual event that attracts the world's best middle distance runners - is also being held on the same day in Holyrood Park and it's free to watch the action.

Entrants to the Bupa Great Winter Run will receive a chip timing device to ensure an accurate race time, race number and full information pack.

Waiting for you after you've crossed the finish line there'll be a quality event t-shirt, souvenir finisher's medal, a bottle of Aqua-Pura water and a Powerade Sports Drink, all included in your finisher's pack.

To help you train and stay in shape why not make use of the Training Zone at the Great Run website, which offers personalised training plans, help and training advice to help you reach your goals.
You could use the event as part of a long-term plan to participate in the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run on 2nd May 2010 - a 10km road race through the scenic streets of Edinburgh city centre that also incorporates the Bupa Junior and Mini Great Edinburgh Run.

Be part of something really special - and use the Great Winter Run as a target to keep you motivated to train and exercise over the winter months.
