Kirsties On A High After Barcelona Tri

24 OCT2009

Last weekend saw Scotland's Kirsty Anderson take the trip to Barcelona for the Olympic Distance Triathlon. Whilst running a 10k race in 42:46 would be considered by most of us as a major achievement in itself, Kirsty warmed up for the 10k event with a 1500m open swim in 24:33 and a 40k cycle in 1:07:01.

The Glasgow based athlete finished seventh woman and completed the course in a personal best time of 2:20:43. Kirsty said she was really pleased with her improvements and can't wait to get stuck into her winter training and see how far she can go next year. Well done Kirsty.

Not far behind Ms Anderson was fellow Glasgow triathlete Kirsty Brown who dipped below 2:30:00 to complete the event in a time of 2:29:17. Ms Brown swam the 1500m in 29:24, cycled the 40k in 1:07:45 and ran the 10k in 47:12.
