parkrun Edinburgh Final Countdown

16 OCT2009

The weather forecast for tomorrow in Edinburgh is excellent so ideal for the launch of the eagerly anticipated Edinburgh parkrun. Latest news is that over 420 runners have registered for the event including 100 plus this week. The initial parkrun will be special with a colourful start and finish and kilometre markers. Fine autumnal weather should be perfect for a professional warm-up from Cath Buchan from David Lloyd. The warm-up kicks this off at 9:10am at the flagpole adjacent to the causeway to picturesque Cramond Island.

Following the race, runners can enjoy a free banana from Scot-mid and a hot tea or coffee from the Starbuck's tent (donations of 50p & £1 are being sought by Starbuck's for their St Columba's Hospice Appeal). Parkrun ethos encourages social activity - so the organising team hope many runners will use this facility and get reaction to the Edinburgh set-up and course.

The Edinburgh Parkrun core team are Gary Frater, Mark Johnstone, Mitch Fraser and Alia Haskouri.
