Bree Cheeses Off Edinburgh Marathon

9 OCT2009

Edinburgh Marathon 2009 title sponsors Albert Bartlett will not be associated with the event in 2010. The Airdrie-based company is Britain's leading grower and packer of potatoes and looked an ideal match for Edinburgh Marathon. Race organisers were hopeful of a long-term relationship. However it appears that Albert Bartlett has now thrown over the big Edinburgh race for a more glamorous partner - Desperate Housewives' actress Marcia Cross. who plays the role of Bree in the popular American TV series.

Marcia Cross appears as herself in a beautifully produced TV advert which sees the uber-glamorous star turn her nose up at an endorsement of Albert Bartlett's Rooster potato. The 'tongue in cheek' promotion has been widely praised for its humour and style.

While disappointed at the end of a short but amicable relationship Edinburgh Marathon Ltd appears ready to commit again and would be happy to hear from potential partners for what has become one of Scotland's leading sporting events.
