Park run up and away

Organisers of Glasgow's park run initiative have received permission to hold their weekly event in Pollok Park from Glasgow City Council.
The first 5k time trial was held on December 6th and will now be held each Saturday morning (no interruption for the Christmas/New Year holiday). Race start time is 9.30 (but get along well in advance of that time to warm-up) and the start is at the car park close to the Burrell Museum. Full details and a course map are available at the park run website.
The event is free although organisers are always looking for volunteers to help stage the run - send an email if you would like to lend a hand. The inaugural run attracted over 40 and organisers are keen to stress the social nature of the event with post-race coffee at the Burrell Cafe (although we think runners have to pay for that themselves).
